Three Muses Challenge...The Written Word...

This is my take on this week's challenge.  When I created this image I typed out all my negative thoughts and then cut them into word spaghetti.  Then I served them up on a silver plate with a silver spoon. Bon Appetite!

I have been working hard to control my negative self talk.  Sometimes the negative talk seems to be on automatic playback that runs constantly in the background of my thoughts.  Sometimes I am able to stop and listen and turn the words into positive words.  Sometimes I eat and stuff those words down to make them quiet for a while.  Sometimes I am amazed at how hatefully I treat myself.  I would never say these words to a friend or stranger.  It is a hard habit to break.  It is a work in progress.  I am a work in progress.  Love you all, Jamie

Jamie,
Love that piece of work!!! I'm with you with the negative self talk...it's like a hateful circle sometimes. Makes you feel even worse about yourself....not exactly productive!
Let's both work on it together, shall we?
hugs,
Gail

I think your interpretation for the challenge is very eloquent.

I too suffer from negativity ... as an adult I have learned it is bitter foe. One thing I have tried and works well, when I am paying attention, is when I hear the negative thoughts in my mind I stop for just a second to say "oh yes I know who you are..you are not me" just acknowledging the voice for what it is..I call them lies...puts me back in control and takes power of the negative thoughts away.

Sometimes negatives thoughts want to creep in our brain, filling it with toxic waste. It is bad enough out there, you know, the world that tell us that we will never be good enough no matter what, and then it becomes a choice, one that only you can make. Choose happiness, the one that nobody can give you because is inside you all along. Been a believer had help me more than anything. When I think about all the care that went into my creation I realized that I'm priceless. Dear friend, know this, you are beautiful and a one of a kind masterpiece. Choose goodness and kindness to yourself today. Blessings, Marta.

Jamie this photo is amazing and you are amazing. I am glad you found a productive and visual way to get those negative thoughts out. I too know that fighting the negative thoughts can be a hard and lifelong battle. I love the symbolism in how you have dealt with it here. served on a silver platter with a silver spoon. I am afraid I would have stomped them into the ground. LOL! Not very lady like. double LOL!!

I love your artfully expressive way of dealing with your negative thoughts. Marta is right, Jamie, you are a unique and special individual. Make a list of what's good and right about you and read it every morning!

They may have started out as negative thoughts, my friend, but just look at the beautiful artwork they have become. A standing ovation from my corner.

Dear friend-
To materialize your negative thoughts in this way-and cut them to pieces, is a fantastic way of burrying them- I know it will make a difference in the long run, Jamie.

A perfect post that really makes us all think. We are all guilty of this and must work on it. I also have found that I must stay away from it (or should I say toxic people)...thank you for sharing this with us all! Miss you! :)

I say those kind of cruel mean things to myself a bazillion times a day too. I have gotten a little better at saying positive ones to counteract the crap some of the time. Definitely a work in progress - as we all are, Beautiful One. Making lists of what I am grateful for in my mind helps a lot. It is also the last thing I do before I go to sleep at night, just list 'em in no particular order...breathing, the sunshine, the cardinal's song, my clean sheets, my Mom, my hubby...zzzzzz.
I hope you find the perfect tools that work for you, Dear Heart.
Love your crazy bitter word spaghetti !!!

Love this piece!!! The image is fantastic and love that it is "speaking" about negative self talk. I am horrid when it comes to putting myself down. I read a book called "What to Say When You Talk To Yourself" and it is wonderful.

You are beautiful and talented and generous and such a loving spirit. I'm so glad to call you friend.
xo,
Lesley
